In case you haven't guessed, matrimony and motherhood did not come naturally or easily to me. I felt somewhat vindicated when I interviewed Dr. Linda Merry for Women In Veterinary Medicine: Profiles of Success, and she, the mother of an only child, said, "I am about as naturally maternal as a rattlesnake." In spite of those sentiments, Linda and I have taken the roles that God assigned us, and we've run with the ball, so to speak. Another thing you've probably surmised, if you've prrused this web site at all, is that I write about the things that I am trying to work out in my own life. Most of the essays I wrote about being a single mother and about remarrying and blending families remain, alas, unpublished. However, because I am the editor of this web site, I can select and publish them here. The wonderful thing about the web is that you can elect to skip any or all of my offerings on this or any other subject. |
